Bridge dismantling Landsberger Allee - Berlin

Location of performance: Rowing canal Halle (Saale)

Construction time: 6 months

 

Scope of services:  

Reinwald GmbH has been awarded the contract for the dismantling of the steel bridge over the Ruderkanal in Halle (Saale). This includes the entire bridge structure, including the pipelines for district heating and drinking water supply, as well as the abutments.

For the dismantling work, it was necessary to cross the rowing canal using excavators and trucks via a mobile pontoon bridge. Dismantling methodology (summary):

  • Removal of the sheet metal and asphalt decking

  • Removal of internal piping (up to DN 800)

  • Lifting the bridge using hydraulic jacks Positioning coupling pontoons with support structures beneath the bridge

  • Lowering and setting the bridge down onto the support structures

  • Moving the bridge to the northern bank

  • Attaching sections to a mobile crane and separating individual segments via thermal cutting Mechanical demolition of the abutments Loading, transport, and recycling/disposal

  • Mechanical demolition of the abutments ​

Scope of work (quantities):

  • Dismantling of steel structure: approx. 200 t

  • Abutment demolition: 1,000 t Loading

  •  disposal of soil: 3,000 m³ ​

 

Technical and equipment-specific details:​

  • 40 t crawler excavator

  • LTM 1750 9.1 mobile crane

  • Coupling pontoons (Heros TH-Blue)

  • Peri support structures

Location: Berlin - Marzahn

Construction time:

  • Subsection 1: January - March 2023

  • Subsection 2: Beginning of 2024

Scope of services:

  • Dismantling of two adjacent reinforced concrete bridges

  • consisting of 6 field continuous systems each with a span of 20m-26m, a total length of approx. 145m, and a width of 16m

  • Removal of the bridge superstructure using a mobile excavator and dismantling of the surrounding railing

  • Dismantling and dismantling of 42 plate beams, which were located above the individual supports

  • Careful separation of the individual slab beams and storage/transportation using chain slings and a 500t mobile crane at a collection point

  • Subsequent crushing using a crawler excavator and pulverizer

 

Technical and device-specific features:

  • Use of mobile cranes LTM 450 and LTM 200 to ensure the dismantling of the slab beams

  • Use of 30t crawler excavator CAT360F with pulverizer, demolition shears and chisel hammer

  • Division of the dismantling process into individual sections as a total of 6 tracks, a district heating line and a traffic road run underneath the bridge

  • exact compliance with the specified closure times of the respective tracks

Location: Erfurt-Waltersleben

Construction Period: 10 weeks

Scope of services:

  • Complete gutting of the entire furniture store (approx. 26,000 m² GFA)

  • Demolition of administration, gastronomy area, children's play area, etc.

  • Dismantling of the entire building services

  • Dismantling of roof, wall, and ceiling elements made of reinforced concrete

  • Mechanical demolition of approx. 25,000 m³uR

  • Execution of diamond drilling and sawing work

 

Technical and equipment-specific details:

  • Use of 100 t, 200 t, and 400 t mobile cranes

  • Use of 28 m long-front excavator (50 t)

  • Use of two crawler excavators (30 - 40 t) including attachments

  • Use of ride-on strippers, scissor lifts, telescopic handlers, and wheel loaders

  • Separation of reinforced concrete components using diamond and wire sawing methods

Construction period: October 19 to September 20

 

Scope of services:

  • Dismantling of reinforced concrete bridge made of monolithic cast-in-place concrete

  • Cutting the bridge into craneable segments from 30t to 65t using diamond saw technology

  • Dismantling the segments above the railway overhead line

  • Dismantling work under DB's closure time specifications

  • Total mass of superstructure and central pillar 1500 t

  • Component thicknesses between 50cm and 72cm

 

Technical and device-specific features:

  • 4 wall and floor diamond saws with blade diameters up to 1600 mm

  • Mobile cranes 300t to 750t
